The W112-chassis line was launched by Mercedes-Benz in 1961 initially as the 300SE sedan, offering more power from its M189 3.0L straight-six than its lesser 2.2L W111 stablemate with which it shared the “Fintail” (or Heckflosse) bodywork. The two-door coupé and convertible W112 300SE both appeared a year later in 1962 and shared their bodywork with the 220SE W111 coupé and convertible, the clean and elegant lines of which had been designed by Frenchman Paul Bracq. In both cases – sedan and coupé/cabriolet – the 300SE was designed to be a serious step-up from the W111 in power, luxury, performance, exclusivity, and price. In many ways it was the Maybach of its day, offering an upmarket version of an existing line with a number of important distinguishing and luxurious features. These items included exclusive use of the 170 horsepower 3.0L engine, standard automatic transmission, power steering and self-levelling suspension; along with liberal use of leather, walnut timber trim and exterior chrome compared with the W111 equivalents. The W112 series ran through until 1968, and in total just 9,875 units were delivered to customers globally across sedan and coupé/cabriolet versions…a tiny number by any standard, making the 300SE a very exclusive model line indeed. The two-door Mercedes-Benz W111 coupé and convertible first appeared in 1962, their clean and elegant lines having been designed by Frenchman Paul Bracq. Initially offered in 220SE guise – with a 2.2L inline 6-cylinder engine – these timelessly beautiful models sat immediately below the more upmarket 300SE (or W112, sharing the same bodywork) at the top of the marque’s passenger car range. In 1965 the 220SE was superseded by the 250SE, which introduced the new and larger 2.5L M129 inline 6 developing 148 horsepower (112kW) and capable of a 188km/h top speed. In total, just 5,259 examples of the 250SE coupé were built during its currency from 1965 until late 1967, with the majority of these in left-hand drive form for the home market and the United States. It was replaced by the 280SE, which remained until the end of the W111 coupé/cabriolet line in 1971. Inspection can be arranged by appointment.

Finished in White (050) with a dark blue leather interior, this particular coupé was built in right-hand drive form to Australian specification in 1967 and delivered to a Surfers Paradise owner on 21 August, 1967 by Grand Motors at Southport. It comes complete with all its original books, service log, manuals and paperwork including the warranty card for the factory-fitted Becker Grand Prix push-button radio and the original sales brochure. The odometer records a mileage of 74,113 miles, and the vehicle has been in the hands of a Victorian collector who has maintained it impeccably for a number of years. Quite simply this is a breathtaking car, with the quality, originality and condition of every aspect being second-to-none. The exterior is set-off by the original painted steel wheels bearing the correct centre hubcaps and separate outer chrome dress-rings, and finished off with whitewall tyres. The highly successful Mercedes-Benz W222/V222 – like every S-Class before it – set the benchmark for the luxury class during its seven-year reign from 2014 until 2021. Six months after its initial launch Mercedes-Benz Australia introduced an additional version of the W222 aimed at a growing number of sophisticated and progressive buyers who wanted all the well-known benefits of the flagship limousine but with the efficiency of the smaller C-Class. This April 2005-built Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG Kompressor Sedan has covered just 120,544km since new, and is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744U) with the striking Black Anthracite leather interior. Mercedes-Benz unveiled the W/V126 series S-Class at the dawn of the 1980s, and it quickly established itself as the standard-setter for large luxury sedans globally. It was designed to build on the huge success of its W/V116 predecessor, and it remains the most popular of all the generations to carry the venerated S-Class designation. The coupé version of the 126 series (C126) was launched shortly after the sedans and like them was designed in-house by legendary stylist Bruno Sacco. The Mercedes-Benz W108-series was launched in 1965 to replace the W111 "Fintail" models and ran through to 1972. Designed by Frenchman Paul Bracq, its simple but elegant lines remain as timelessly beautiful today as they did almost 60 years ago.
This stunning 1969-built 280S is one of the last of the W108 line and is finished in Light Ivory with a bamboo MB-Tex interior. It was delivered new by James Sutherland Mercedes-Benz of Waitara to a North Shore customer and remained in the original owner's care up until two years ago, at which time it passed into the hands of a Mercedes-Benz collector. It is showing 91,088 miles on the odometer and comes complete with spare keys, all the original factory literature and manuals, service log book and a large number of receipts for mechanical work done on the vehicle dating back to the early '70s. The car is in excellent original condition both inside and out, with a highlight being the interior trim and dash timber - all of which are in excellent order for the car's age.
