This April 2005-built Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG Kompressor Sedan has covered just 120,544km since new, and is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744U) with the striking Black Anthracite leather interior. It is immediately apparent that this car has been extremely well maintained, and its remarkable condition makes it one of the very best of its type currently available. The previous owner was meticulous with this car, keeping it garaged at all times and using a car cover when it was not in use. The supercharged 5.4L V8 engine was mated to the Speedshift 5-speed automatic transmission (derived from the unit fitted to the V12-powered S600 limousine) which has a torque capacity of 1,079Nm, as the newer 7G-Tronic introduced in 2003 was limited to 735 Nm...insufficient to handle the torque from the supercharged V8. The motor develops 350kW and 700Nm, and channels the drive to the rear wheels through a reinforced differential. All of this over-engineered Mercedes-AMG hardware enables a 0-100km/h sprint time of just 4.6 seconds, and produces a highly durable car capable of massive mileages without any problems. In fact, we have seen examples of this model that have covered in excess of 400,000km! The E55 is also driving on Airmatic pneumatic suspension, rather than the problematic hydraulic system found in the S55, SL55 and the CL55. Everything works perfectly on this impressive car, from the memory electric front seats through to the ice-cold air-conditioning. The car's high specification includes the optional keyless lock/unlock with push-button start and the quality Harmon/Kardon sound system, and the vehicle is riding on four Continental Contact 3 tyres.
