(Deposit Taken) The P38A (internally referred to as ‘LP’ at Land Rover) was the second generation of the legendary Range Rover line and represented a significant leap forward over its “Classic” predecessor in terms of styling, refinement, cabin ergonomics, off-road capability, safety, and technology. It was code-named after the building in which its engineering development took place at Land Rover headquarters in Solihull, England – Block P38A.
This 1995 4.6 HSE was the range-topping model at launch and remains a rare and highly sought-after vehicle today. Built in October 1995, this particular example was Australian-complied in March 1996 and delivered new by Manning Valley Motors Land Rover in Taree, NSW. It has had just one owner from new in Port Macquarie before being acquired by us.
Meticulously maintained throughout its life, the vehicle’s first 1,500km service was completed by the original selling dealer, and from that point onward, it was exclusively serviced by John Patrick Prestige in Port Macquarie up to 194,253km. The low mileage is supported by a comprehensive and up-to-date logbook service history, making this a rare survivor in outstanding condition.

This imposing Range Rover Vogue was delivered new by Purnell Land Rover in 2006 to a Sydney family and is finished in Java Black with a dark charcoal grey leather interior. It is set apart from most other Range Rovers currently being offered not simply by virtue of its condition and history, but also because it is powered by the 225kW Jaguar 4.4L V8 engine. This motor was effectively an interim fitment, but despite this it has become recognised by Range Rover enthusiasts and technicians alike as superior to both the BMW 4.4L V8 fitted to earlier L322 models and the V8 diesel motors offered afterwards. Driving through a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission (compared with the 5-speed fitted with the earlier BMW motors) this naturally-aspirated 4.4L delivers excellent performance, remarkable fuel efficiency and superior reliability compared with the other motors – and especially when compared with the earlier BMW unit. Owners of these vehicles fitted with the Jaguar 4.4 know what they have, and hang on to them tightly. They are capable of extraordinary mileages, and we have seen examples with more than 300,000km of trouble-free motoring on the odometer. This vehicle has covered a low 139,639km and was serviced at Purnell up to 60,000km, after which it was purchased by another owner who entrusted it to reputable specialists.
