The fifth generation of the Maserati Quattroporte (the Tipo M139) was launched in 2003 and ran right through to 2012. Designed by legendary styling house Pininfarina, the car beautifully evokes the original 1963 Quattroporte's athletic yet graceful lines. This stunning example is built to the "S" specification, which occupied the middle of the range between the regular Quattroporte and the range-topping Sport GTS.
It is finished in Blu Oceano (Ocean Blue metallic) with a cream 'Poltona Frau' soft leather interior, the latter complemented by the polished wengé timber trim which was unique to the S. It has covered just 62,627km and comes complete with all the factory literature (in its crafted leather case), spare key and fully up-to-date service history. The Quattroporte is powered by the exuberant F136 4.7L V8 motor designed and built by Ferrari, developing 317kW of power and 490Nm of torque. Driving to the rear wheels via a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission, this sonorous V8 enables the Quattroporte to despatch the 0-100km/h sprint in just 5.4 seconds. Aside from the larger engine (4.7L versus 4.2L), the S is distinguished from the lesser Quattroporte by seven-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels (in this car's case fitted with OEM-spec Pirelli P-Zero tyres), the Skyhook adaptive suspension system replacing a conventional set-up, Brembo high-performance braking system with cross-drilled brake rotors and more.
